It’s the time of the year when couples start looking for honeymoon ideas, and we wanted to help with a little inspiration. What follows are 12 romantic places for this once-in-a-lifetime getaway.

  1.   Hotel Chocolat (St. Lucia) - This hotel has a jungle feel, and for a good reason.  The area is full of tropical plants and guests are invited to make their own chocolate bars from the cocoa beans found on the property.  This is an incredible boutique resort that is incredibly romantic and great for couples on their honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary.
  2.   Little Palm Island (Florida Keys) - Located a short two and a half hour drive south of Miami, Little Palm Island is paradise and incredibly romantic.  It gives you the feeling of being so far away from normal civilization, yet couples are actually very close to the very things they are trying to escape.
  3.   Jade Mountain (St. Lucia) - This 600-acre beachfront resort is the only property on the island that has a view of both the iconic Piti and Gros Piton mountains that seems to be floating upon the Carribean sea.  This is pure bliss and the sunsets can be absolutely stunning.
  4.   North Island (Seychelles) - Talk about royal treatment, this is where Great Britain’s Prince William and Kate spent their honeymoon, and it features a staff of 130 that takes care of the maximum 44 guests.  It’s very remote and extremely private.
  5.   Sanctuary Cana (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic) - Guests at this all-inclusive resort should expect the unexpected.  This resort features a variety of accommodations from spanish colonial style buildings to overwater bungalows.
  6.   Hapuku Lodge (New Zealand) - These suites are inspired after treehouses, in fact, they are built on 30-foot-tall stilts.  This allows guest to wake up in the trees among native manuka trees.  Each treehouse comes equipped with a wood-burning fireplace and lots of incredible scenic views.
  7.  Le Meridien (Bora Bora) - This high-end resort offers over-the-water bungalows with glass floors so guests can see the crystal clear turquoise water and the abundant wildlife. The Le Meridien is famous for its turtle rehabilitation habitat, and the water is nearly always 80 degrees, so swimming or relaxing in the water is a given.
  8.   Eden Rock Hotel (St. Barths) - This resort on the famous island of St. Barths is stunning and full of beautiful artwork and some of the finest visuals that nature has to offer.  There are a variety of villas including one called The Rock Star Villa that comes with its own recording studio.  So who has recorded here?  Well, the resort is so private that they won’t tell. If you go, you need to try the On the Rocks restaurant which is perched on a cliff overlooking St. Jean Bay.  This restaurant is very, very romantic!
  9.   Fowl Cay Resort (Exumas, Bahamas) - The best way to describe Fowl Cay Resort is that it is a casual vacation experience that combines the freedom of renting your very own island villa, or the entire island, with all the quality amenities of a full-service resort.  It’s one of 365 Cays and is incredibly remote.
  10.    Likuliku Lagoon Resort (Fiji) - This is the only resort in Fiji with over the water bungalows.  Likuliku in the Malolo dialect translates into “calm lagoons or waters,” and it won’t leave you disappointed if you are looking for a romantic place to honeymoon or celebrate an anniversary.  Ironically, this area was once a safe harbour for the war canoes during times of tribal warfare.
  11.    Huvafen Fushi (Maldives) - Visitors arrive by luxury speedboat to this amazing oasis.  Honeymooners get their own personal butler and glass floor overwater bungalows.  The island’s claim to fame is that it is reportedly home to the first underwater spa and what is said to be the largest wine collection in the Maldives.  This is very popular with Hollywood A-list stars, and won’t disappoint.
  12.    Hanalei Colony Resort (Kauai, Hawaii) - We are in love with Hawaii, and that’s natural since our company headquarters are in southern California.  This 48-room resort is located in the quiet town of Hanalei and has rooms that are 10 feet from the beach.  The area is surrounded by incredible restaurants, most notably is our favorite called The Dolphin. We also recommend the Wakeup Cafe for breakfast.
